About Us

Bonnie, owner of the business, established the company in  August 2020, after completing a Certificate in Animal Management at Toi Ohomai Institute of Technology (Windermere Campus, Tauranga). Her love of dogs was the driver for her making a career out of what had become a hobby of grooming dogs for friends and relatives. She has a 14 year old shih tzu named Topaz and recently had to make the heart breaking decision to put down an 18 year-old bichon frise/poodle cross called Basil who she had co-owned and cared for during the last few weeks of his life, as a friend was unable to take him with her when she re-located to the south island. She has since co-adopted SPCA rescue dogs, sister and brother, Maggie (7 yrs.) and George (10 yrs), whose owner had to surrender them due to illness.

 

During the country’s first lockdown in March 2020, Bonnie contacted an acquaintance and asked for his help in the establishment of a studio out of which the home based business would be operated. Due to the pandemic work did not commence in earnest until mid-2021 and in December 2021, building consent for the studio was obtained. Construction of the studio commenced in March 2022 and the fit-out was completed in December 2022. During that time Bonnie received guidance and further training to hone her grooming skills. The studio is now up and running.
